dr. Sunu Budhi Raharjo, Sp.JP(K), Ph.D.

Dr. Sunu Budhi Raharjo, Sp.JP(K), Ph.D., practices as a consultant cardiologist with a focus on interventional electrophysiology, including ablation and cardiac device implantation at the national cardiovascular referral center. Dr. Sunu serves as Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita, Jakarta, and takes part in the education and supervision of cardiology specialists and subspecialists. Dr. Sunu now also practices at Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital.

Dr. Sunu Budhi Raharjo, Sp.JP(K), Ph.D., is a cardiologist at Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital, Jakarta, focusing on clinical and interventional electrophysiology, the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Sunu graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, in 1996, earned a Ph.D. in the molecular basis of cardiovascular diseases from Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan, in 2003, and then continued as a postdoctoral fellow through the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

Dr. Sunu completed the Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Residency Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, in 2012 and developed skills in clinical electrophysiology, pacemaker implantation, and interventional cardiology at the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita, Jakarta. In 2015 Dr. Sunu completed training in advanced clinical and interventional electrophysiology at Veteran General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan.

In academic work, Dr. Sunu is Editor-in-Chief of the Indonesian Journal of Cardiology and has contributed to Indonesian Heart Association (PERKI) guidelines on atrial fibrillation, device therapy, supraventricular tachycardia, and arrhythmia under INA-CBGs. Dr. Sunu is involved in the electrophysiology ablation and basic research subcommittees of the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS), reviews for journals including CVD Prevention and Control (WHO), Life Sciences, and Acta Cardiologica Sinica, and often serves as a member and chair of scientific committees at the annual meetings of the Indonesian Heart Rhythm Society (InaHRS) and PERKI.

Awards received include the Young Investigator Award for Foreign Researcher from The Japanese Circulation Society, the Young Investigator Travel Award at The 9th International Conference on Endothelin in Utah, United States, and the Excellent Researcher from Southeast Asia award from the Southeast Asian-European Union-Net Mapping Study.
